Little Darlings Baby Mobile

Now that I have Graphic 45's newest paperlines, Little Darlings and Olde Curiosity Shoppe, I thought I would make at least 1 or 2 new projects before officially submitting my G45 Design Team application!

Yesterday I decided to create a project that I've been planning to make once I received my Little Darlings prize pack. This collection is all about babies, but in a very charming, vintage way. The colors are soft and blend very naturally, and the sweet baby images just melt your heart. I wanted to capture the sweetness of this collection in a practical way, so I thought I would make a baby mobile! Lucky for me, I found this lovely old satin hanger to display some fun items. The color matches the collection perfectly!

After (front)
After (back)
I rummaged through my scraps and found 5 pieces of sheer blue ribbon that were left over from the card class I taught last summer. I tied these around the hanger, ensuring that one end was always longer than the other. Then, I grabbed some crochet ribbon and wound it around my hanger. I untied the blue ribbon from the satin hanger and strung a Little Darlings chipboard tag through the bow.

For my hanging pieces, I used a combination of chipboard tags, stickers, and Little Darlings paper.

I first wanted to create some pieces that spelled the word "baby." The letters came from the Little Darlings Alphabet Stickers, which I attached onto some New Arrival paper. I glued these on top of some Little Treasures paper that I cut using my Spellbinders Scalloped Square die. Here's what the front of these looks like:

As for the back, I cut out the same paper patterns, only I attached images of babies from some New Arrival paper using pop dots.

To attach the letters to my sheer blue ribbon, I glued the back piece first, then placed the front piece on top. I used three chipboard tags and since they are one-sided, I covered the back with Little Darlings paper, stickers, and little Prima flowers. I also added a flower I made using Rock-A-Bye paper and Donna Salazar's Rose Creations die along with some butterflies from Heaven Sent paper.

My butterflies were created using Tim Holtz's Movers & Shapers Mini Butterflies die and Rock-A-Bye paper.

I cut out more butterflies and attached them to the ribbon. I also added some stickers that I placed on top of Precious Posey paper that I cut using my Spellbinders Scalloped Circle die.

Since the front of my mobile had a bow, I decided to add a Petaloo flower to the back.

I had a lot of fun creating this baby mobile ... In fact, I'm quite inspired to make another baby-themed project! My husband and I have several friends and family that are currently expecting, so I know my Little Darlings prize pack is going to be very handy this year. :)

Thank you so much for looking!
