Graphic 45 Party in a Box!

Hi there!

Have you played with Graphic 45's new book boxes yet? If not, hop on over to the Graphic 45 blog today to see two examples of these great Staples in use! You'll see a stunning double box by Alberto, and this fun "party in a box" by yours truly!

May is a busy time for my family. But "busy" in a good way! We have so much to celebrate: our moms, my friends who are moms, and a couple birthdays (mine and my sister's)! With so many people and occasions to celebrate, it only made sense to make a party decor project that I could use over and over. I chose Graphic 45's fashionable Couture line and regular book box size to make my party in a box!

Wine charms!

And some "confetti" using the small dots you find from Graphic 45's flower sheets, along with some gold sequins by Teresa Collins.

My "party" banner using the artist trading tags, Spellbinders dies and some pretty chipboard hearts by Gina's Designs.

Thanks so much for looking! I hope you're inspired to use Graphic 45 for your next party!

Sweet Sentiments Altered Hook Rack

Today on the Graphic 45, you can find a fabulous altered Typography radio by Nichola and this springy hook rack I altered using Sweet Sentiments! There is also a fun Botanical Tea prize to be won - simply leave a comment on Graphic 45's blog or Facebook page to be entered!

From the moment I spotted this wooden rack, I knew a Graphic 45 altered project was in store. My first thought was to create something beachy with By The Sea. Then as other design team projects came up, my thoughts kept changing. That happens quite a bit in my craft room! I'm sure that's the same for many of you. You find something great with one intention, and it ends up being something completely different after so many iterations!

I decided to use Sweet Sentiments because of the fun mesh wiring. It made me think of a wire basket, which then led me to think of a garden. It's hard to tell, but I used several fussy cut layers of flowers to emulate a 3D look of a bunch of flowers.

As a Graphic 45 design team member, I've been blessed to create with some of the most amazing product before it hits store shelves, along with beautiful product from partner companies, like Gina's Designs. That's where I found the beautiful Queen Anne's Lace chipboard die cuts below!

My favorite part of my hook rack? It's also a mini card organizer! I made this makeshift filing system inside to help me store blank cards for easy storage and access.

There you have it, folks! Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you all have a wonderfully crafty week! And if you're like me (a Graphic 45 lover) I bet you are so excited for the newest releases to hit stores. I'm especially stoked for Come Away With Me and the new ephemera pack, and built-in templates. I have a feeling there are more fun surprises in store for us this year!

G45 By The Sea Wall Hanging

Hello!

I'm late with blogging this project, but here is a By The Sea creation I made for Graphic 45's booth at CHA last month. This project (along with an amazing altered matchbook box by the fabulous Nichola) was featured on the blog last week!

I was inspired to make a lifesaver after a trip to the O.C. (Oregon Coast) back in December. Real lifesavers were not an option to alter - this project had to be small for the booth! So I decided to make my own using upcycled cardboard. I simply cut out a circle, traced it onto cardboard, then cut the cardboard. I made a smaller circle and used that shape for the center. Then I added a hefty dosage of fussy cutting and some fun little chipboard shapes from Gina's Designs (and some glitter!). How I love By The Sea!

I have more By The Sea projects in store ... stay tuned!

G45 Botanical Tea Book Box

Good Morning!

I hope your February has been off to a better start than mine. It's been a tad stressful and just recently, quite sad. It was a real day brightener to see one of my creations on the Graphic 45 blog today, along with a video with Charee sharing my project. The theme today on the blog is our new Staples, and my project below happens to use 5 different kinds: the new ATC-sized book box, washi tape, shabby chic door pulls, shabby chic brads, and shabby chic keys. If you hop on by the blog, you can also see an adorable project Denise Hahn made using another new staple, the ivory ATC tags.

I used Graphic 45's beautiful Botanical Tea line to decorate this box, so naturally a tea theme was in store! I made each of the included ATC tags into little teabags. The edges were covered with G45's new washi tape - an idea Charee shared with me a while ago! ;)

And here's the video of Charee from Graphic 45, showing off the new Graphic 45 Staples and my Botanical Tea book box!

Happy Monday!

Today on the Graphic 45 blog, we are featuring some fun home decor projects. There are some lovely projects by fellow DT member Nichola, and one from me! But before I share it, here is the fabulous prize that Graphic 45 is giving away this week: $75 worth of product, including Couture!

All you need to do to enter to win, is leave a comment on Graphic 45's blog or Facebook page!

And now for my project. I found the following wooden hook rack at one of my favorite craft stores in Oregon. Right away, I knew it would make a wonderful home decor project, and a practical one at that!

Before
I used Graphic 45's Couture paper and chipboard to decorate the hook rack, along with some fun Kaisercraft flowers I've been hoarding for awhile. I also added quite a bit of bling, starting with a Teresa Collins medallion and a bunch of crystal pendants. :)

After

That is it for now! Hope your week has started off well, everyone!

Typography tray tutorial for Graphic 45, Petaloo, and Xyron blog hop!

Good Morning!

1. Graphic 45 - http://g45papers.typepad.com
2. Petaloo - http://petaloo.typepad.com
3. Xyron - http://aintshecrafty.blogspot.com

It was so much fun making my project for the blog hop! Here it is:

I've had this 7 Gypsies tray for quite a while, and actually intended to use it for a different project. But when my Typography paper came in from Graphic 45, the black back drop seemed perfect!

I used some Perfect Pearls in Heirloom Gold all over for a warm "gold wash".

And have you heard of Gina's Designs? Oh my gosh, amazing chipboard pieces! That's where I got my letter "C" below, as well as the gate. Although, that's not really a letter, it's a flourish!

More amazing Petaloo flowers! I LOVE them!!

I used my Spellbinders Butterflies die to create the pretty butterflies throughout.

Would you like to make a similar tray? Below is my tutorial on how to make one just like this! Granted, you may not have all the pieces, but you can let your creativity flow and come up with something that's just your style! Don't forget to stop by Graphic 45's blog today to leave a comment for your chance to win! Hop over to Petaloo and Xyron as well for even more chances at winning some amazing prizes!
