Hello!
Today on the Graphic 45 blog, we are featuring two easy Mother's Day tutorials. There's a tag tut by Romy Veul and these bookmarks by yours truly!
I know quite a few moms, so trying to find something special for each lady can be a daunting task. Ever since the crafty bulb turned on for me a few years ago, I've found that handmade gifts can be just as special as they are economic.
For my tutorial, I wanted to make a Mother's Day gift that could be used over and over. Since most ladies I know like to read, I thought bookmarks would make a perfect idea!
I used Graphic 45's gorgeous Botanical Tea line, some artist trading tags, and the new washi.
Ready to create your own Mother's Day bookmarks? Here are the supplies I used and easy instructions to make the same set of 4 bookmarks above. Enjoy!
Step 1. Remove a blue floral print sheet from your 6x6 pad. Score the paper in half down the middle, then score ¾” from the top. Fold both lines.
Step 3. Remove a green text pattern. Cut (2) 2.5” x 4.75” mats. Corner round each edge on both pieces. Locate your 12” x 12” Flora paper and fussy cut (4) bunches of flowers and (4) individual flowers.
Step 5. Close your bookmark. Adhere the other green mat and the bird tag from your Tags & Pockets. Attach washi tape to the top of the front panel and leave about 1.5” hanging off the right side.
Step 6. Tie (2) pieces of white ribbon and (1) piece of blue ribbon to the tag. Tie a shabby chic ornate key to the end of your blue ribbon. Adhere one of your fussy cut flower bunches. Add a monogram sticker if you like. Write your message inside, then wrap washi tape around the back.
Step 8. For bookmark #3, use green stripe paper for base and blue polka dot paper for mats. Locate pink bird tag and “Thinking of you” piece from your Tags & Pockets. Then, follow steps 1 – 6.
Step 9. For bookmark #4, use cream text paper for base and pink stripe paper for mats. Locate green butterfly tag and teapot piece from your Tags & Pockets. Then, follow steps 1 – 6.
