Sweet Sentiments Altered Hook Rack

Today on the Graphic 45, you can find a fabulous altered Typography radio by Nichola and this springy hook rack I altered using Sweet Sentiments! There is also a fun Botanical Tea prize to be won - simply leave a comment on Graphic 45's blog or Facebook page to be entered!

From the moment I spotted this wooden rack, I knew a Graphic 45 altered project was in store. My first thought was to create something beachy with By The Sea. Then as other design team projects came up, my thoughts kept changing. That happens quite a bit in my craft room! I'm sure that's the same for many of you. You find something great with one intention, and it ends up being something completely different after so many iterations!

I decided to use Sweet Sentiments because of the fun mesh wiring. It made me think of a wire basket, which then led me to think of a garden. It's hard to tell, but I used several fussy cut layers of flowers to emulate a 3D look of a bunch of flowers.

As a Graphic 45 design team member, I've been blessed to create with some of the most amazing product before it hits store shelves, along with beautiful product from partner companies, like Gina's Designs. That's where I found the beautiful Queen Anne's Lace chipboard die cuts below!

My favorite part of my hook rack? It's also a mini card organizer! I made this makeshift filing system inside to help me store blank cards for easy storage and access.

There you have it, folks! Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you all have a wonderfully crafty week! And if you're like me (a Graphic 45 lover) I bet you are so excited for the newest releases to hit stores. I'm especially stoked for Come Away With Me and the new ephemera pack, and built-in templates. I have a feeling there are more fun surprises in store for us this year!

Botanical Tea layout

Good Morning, crafty friends!

I'm excited to share a layout that I made using Botanical Tea, featured on Graphic 45's blog today! This paper is so beautiful and perfect for so many occasions, including weddings! I thought with wedding season in full bloom soon, that a wedding layout would make for the perfect project.

In the scrapbooking world, paper companies are constantly working to produce beautiful designs for upcoming seasons. That's why you'll see Halloween papers in April, and Christmas ones in July! Graphic 45 just started sharing sneak peeks of their gorgeous Halloween line, An Eerie Tale. Be sure to check out the blog for sneak peeks and a chance to win the collection before it hits shelves!

That's all for today, folks! Happy Humpday!

Upcycling contest from Snapguide and Graphic 45

Do you love upcycling old or everyday things into fun gifts, functional items or even works of art?

If so, you've got to enter this fun contest from Snapguide and Graphic 45. Just create a Snapguide account, create a step-by-step using an upcycled project, then submit your guide to the contest!

The grand prize is worth over $900 in Etsy gift certificate money and Graphic 45 product. As a former Etsian, I can tell you I'm quite stoked about these prizes!

If you need some inspiration, head on over to the Graphic 45 blog today. A bunch of us from the design team have already created some upcycled projects to help kickstart your imagination! Below are some salt and pepper shakers that I altered. They're now cute little storage containers for things like beads, brads and anything else that's dainty in size. I'm having a bit of trouble embedding my guide, so if you'd love to try making these for yourself, click here

Have fun and good luck!!

Graphic 45 Easter ATC

Good Morning!

Today on the Graphic 45 blog, we are featuring some fun Easter projects made with Sweet Sentiments. There's a gorgeous treat tutorial by Arlene Cuevas and my fun little ATC below!

Graphic 45 started making the most adorable artist trading tags. They are the standard ATC size: 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" and come in a pack of 6. I created this Easter-themed ATC for the Graphic 45 booth at CHA.

This is an ATC shrine from Coffee Break Design. I saw this at one of my favorite craft stores in Portland and fell in love! Thankfully, I left it plain so I could prop my Sweet Sentiments ATC on it.

If you hop over to the Graphic 45 blog, you'll also see a sneak peek of Arlene's feature project on the Paper Crafter's Library blog, along with an easy Snapguide tutorial from Nichola Battilana. Remember, it's not too late to submit your own Snapguide tutorial on an upcycled project!

Thanks so much for looking and have a great day!

Graphic 45 By The Sea Layout Tutorial

Hello!

Graphic 45 is featuring some By The Sea projects today, including a card by fellow design team member Romy, and this family-friendly layout tutorial by yours truly! This is a photo of my dear friend and her baby boy. When I first saw this photo on her Facebook page, I just loved it and knew I wanted to scrap it! My original plan was to use Sweet Sentiments and make a boy-themed page. But once I found out how much my friend loved By The Sea, I figured the nautical line would be just perfect!

I was quite tickled to see a sneak peek of my layout every week last month. It was a fun surprise not just for me, but for my friend whose picture is in my layout.

Thanks so much for looking! Before I move onto the tutorial, I wanted to tell you about a special contest going on with Graphic 45 and Snapguide. If you love upcycling items into fabulous creations, click here to enter or learn more! You'll need to create a Snapguide account and create an easy guide.
