G45 By The Sea Wall Hanging

Hello!

I'm late with blogging this project, but here is a By The Sea creation I made for Graphic 45's booth at CHA last month. This project (along with an amazing altered matchbook box by the fabulous Nichola) was featured on the blog last week!

I was inspired to make a lifesaver after a trip to the O.C. (Oregon Coast) back in December. Real lifesavers were not an option to alter - this project had to be small for the booth! So I decided to make my own using upcycled cardboard. I simply cut out a circle, traced it onto cardboard, then cut the cardboard. I made a smaller circle and used that shape for the center. Then I added a hefty dosage of fussy cutting and some fun little chipboard shapes from Gina's Designs (and some glitter!). How I love By The Sea!

I have more By The Sea projects in store ... stay tuned!

G45 Botanical Tea Book Box

Good Morning!

I hope your February has been off to a better start than mine. It's been a tad stressful and just recently, quite sad. It was a real day brightener to see one of my creations on the Graphic 45 blog today, along with a video with Charee sharing my project. The theme today on the blog is our new Staples, and my project below happens to use 5 different kinds: the new ATC-sized book box, washi tape, shabby chic door pulls, shabby chic brads, and shabby chic keys. If you hop on by the blog, you can also see an adorable project Denise Hahn made using another new staple, the ivory ATC tags.

I used Graphic 45's beautiful Botanical Tea line to decorate this box, so naturally a tea theme was in store! I made each of the included ATC tags into little teabags. The edges were covered with G45's new washi tape - an idea Charee shared with me a while ago! ;)

And here's the video of Charee from Graphic 45, showing off the new Graphic 45 Staples and my Botanical Tea book box!

Graphic 45 Couture Purse Tutorial

Good Morning!

Today on the Graphic 45 blog, we are featuring some fun projects - a handsome altered hat and tie rack by Annette Green and a mini paper purse tutorial by yours truly!

Just by leaving a comment on the Graphic 45 blog or Facebook page, you'll have a chance to win an amazing Secret Garden prize pack! Without further ado, here is my little purse I made for Graphic 45's booth at CHA Mega Show last month.

Want to make your own? Here's what you need:

Supplies

12” x 12” Graphic 45 Couture Chic
6” x 6” Graphic 45 Patterns & Solids Pad
Graphic 45 Couture Flowers
Graphic 45 Couture Chipboard 1
Graphic 45 Couture Chipboard 2
Tim Holtz Idea-Ology ball & chain
Old earring

Instructions

Step 2. Take a black pattern paper and cut off a 3” x 6” piece. Use your Scor-pal to score the top, bottom, and sides at 1.25”.

Step 3. Flip black pattern piece over. Make cuts along the folds on the top and bottom of the paper. Fold paper to create a rectangular box.

Step 4. Glue one side of the box to the back of one of the red stripe circles. Repeat for the other side. Let your glue dry, then pinch and adhere just the top of the circles together.

Step 5.  Take a solid red paper out and cut (2) 3” x 3” pieces. Punch a large circle into each piece.  Cut off the top inch on both pieces of paper to create “handles”. Adhere handles to the top of the front and back of your purse.

Step 6. Fussy cut the following image from your 12” x 12” Chic paper. Then grab some Couture flowers, an old earring, and chipboard pieces.

Step 7. Adhere chipboard, flowers, and fussy cut image to the front of your purse.

Step 8. Adhere chipboard to the back. Take an 11” long piece of chain and string through purse. Optional: Take one of your scraps and wrap around your chain.
